Do you wish to monitor ACARS transmissions on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch without the need for a bulky computer? ACARS app offers the capability to observe ACARS aircraft communications.

To make use of this app, you will need a radio/scanner that can cover the 118-136 MHz aircraft band. Simply position it close to the radio's speaker, select an appropriate ACARS frequency, and monitor the decodes. For improved reception quality, it is advisable to utilize a pair of earbuds connected to the radio's headphone jack instead of relying on the internal speaker.

You have the option to save decoded ACARS packets for future reference or transfer them to your computer using iTunes.

The app includes a preloaded database containing aircraft model information for numerous planes, which is presented alongside the decoded packets. Furthermore, you have the capability to supplement your own plane details to the existing database.

Packet fields on iOS 6 and later versions are distinguished by color coding.
